Working Towards Compliance: Facts You Need to Know

Following a recent Health Service Journal (HSJ) article, Skills for Health - Workforce Projects Team is pleased to clarify and outline a number of key points that should be considered whilst working towards European Working Time Directive (EWTD) compliance by August 2009.

As the deadline for WTD 2009 rapidly approaches, the Workforce Projects Team pilot sites and projects are coming to a close. A number of organisations have met the WTD 2009 requirements and the pilot sites provide a plethora of approaches to compliance. The learning has been phenomenal with a spread of solutions from rural to urban, specialty to teamworking and much more besides. The reports will provide details of the projects and the key learning that has come from each pilot site experience. The reports will be available to view shortly on the healthcare workforce portal.
